ABOUT THE CLUB

Dromore Amateurs Youth Football ClubThe Youth Football set-up in Dromore coaches kids from all over the Banbridge district and further afield. Having formed in 2005/6 the Club has continued to grow from strength to strength and now cater for an impressive 200 plus kids from ages 5 to 17.

The Club currently run a number of youth football teams. For the 2011/2012 season we will have teams playing in the Mid Ulster Youth League Games Development Centre as well as the Mid Ulster Youth League. There will also be teams playing in the George Best Castlereagh Youth League and Carnbane Youth League.

The Club is also affiliated to the Northern Ireland Boys Football Association and enters teams into the N.I.B.F.A. Cup each season.

In the Summer of 2009 the Club formed a link with English Football League side Preston North End Football Club to run a Summer Soccer School and in total 65 of our kids took part.

In April 2010 and 2011 players from the Club travelled across to Preston to take part in the Easter Cup. Added to that in May 2010 players from the Club also travelled to the Easter & Spring Football Festival in Ayr. It is hoped that more teams will experience these trips across the water over the coming years as the Club develop their Youth set-up even further.

In the Spring of 2012 the Club formed a link with English Championship side Bury Football Club to run a Mid Term Soccer School and in total over 100 of our kids took part. The Mid Term Soccer School was so successful that Bury Football Club agreed to come back again as the two Clubs aim to strengthen the link further.
